An open response to pastor Olukoya (MFM) and others saying Christmas is not in the Bible

Dear Pastor Olukoya, I read all you said about Christmas. First, my sincere apologies to all members of Mountain of Fire Ministry, this is not an attack, but just a way to draw his attention to certain things i think he didn’t think of.

I will like to use this medium to say all the unnecessary dispute and contradicting teaching among Christians, what is killing Christianity especially in this country, Rather than Preach dispute, We focus on preaching salvation and Preaching Christ.

You said Christmas is not in the bible, No doubt about that, but i will like to ask you as well, is the name of your church (Mountain of fire ministries) expressly stated in the bible? Or is there anything like General Overseer in the bible? why then are you bearing such titles?

You also said Christ was not born on December 25th, that he was born around April. No doubt about that as well. But my question is, When is the exact date Christ was born? As well, do you have his birth certificate or any document to back up your claim? And since you know his original birth period, why are you not celebrating him on the real date?

With all due respect sir, i hope when you were baptized, was it at river Jordan where Jesus was also baptized? And i hope also the communion you give in your church is the actual bread and wine Jesus used as his body and blood in the bible? Since it is all about following only what is written in the bible.

You claim 25th was originally set aside by the ancient Roman for Mars festival by the worshipers of the Sun. No doubt about that as well. But i will like to ask this. Take for example you fixed a program in your church, one Native doctor in that same area is also celebrating a feast to his gods, or the community is celebrating a festival that same date, would that automatically transcribe that you are indirectly joining them to worship their gods? Or you will cancel or postpone your Church program simply because its clashing with a juju festival.

Like my friend Loveth Ayeh rightly said in her recent post;

Which day was cancer born? Yet the world gives cancer a day to celebrate it as world cancer day.
Which day was diabetes born to earn it world diabetic day?
Which day was girl child born?
Which day was labour born to make us celebrate labour day world wide?
Which day was AIDS born?
Which day was fathers born that we now celebrate fathers day?
Which day was mother born?
Which day was children born before we began to declare children day?

Now this gives me enough reasons to wonder, How come none of you ever argued on any of the days declared by the United nations to celebrate DISEASES and INFIRMITIES?

Christians all over the world decided to celebrate the birth of Christ on 25th December, and you criticize it, saying its a wrong date, but yet you have refused to celebrate him on the date you claim is the right date.

  1. Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such magnificent information being shared freely out there.
