Buhari Appoints Bayero As NITT’s Director-General

President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed the appointment of Bayero Sali-Farah as the substantive head of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT).

This was revealed on Tuesday, January 21 by NITT’s director of public affairs Paul Msheliz, in Kaduna.

Salih-Farah’s appointment, according to the permanent secretary of the Federal
Ministry of transportation took effect from Monday, January 13.

The new appointee was born in 1964 in Kaduna state. He started working with NITT in 1994, he’s also a graduate of Geography in the Usman Dan Fodio University.

The letter that encompasses his appointment partly read: “I am pleased to inform you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, by a letter Ref. No. PRES/99/MT/26, dated January 13, 2020, has approved your appointment as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria, Kaduna state.

“The appointment is for four years effective January 13, 2020, in accordance with Section 7 of the NITT Act Cap No. 116 LFN 2010.”

This is one of the important apointments the president has made in his move to drive forward his Next Level vision in the second administration.

In a related development it was reported that President Buhari had nominated Kingsley Obiora as the new deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

This is contained in a statement issued by the president’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, on Thursday, January 16.

The statement Indicated that the president had already forwarded a letter nominating Obiora to the president of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan.

The statement said that if upheld by the Senate, Obiora, who is an Alternate Executive Director at the Washington DC office of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), would be replacing Joseph Nnanna, who would retire on February 2, 2020.
