FCCPC COMMENDS THE MANAGEMENT OF AMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY

The Federal competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has hailed the management of Amadu Bello University, over terminating the employment of 15 staff and demotion of a staff.

This is contained in release signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the FCCPC, Mr. Babatunde Irukera.

The statement stated that the Offences by the affected staff is bordered on corruption and sexual harrasment.

The FCCPC revealed that the disciplinary actions is followed by investigations on established unsolicited and unwelcomed sexual advances and behaviors towards members of the school community.

The commission however lamented that these conducts have negatively skwed academic outcomes in a manner that violates the rights of target of behavior and victimizes others who are invariably indirect victims.

It also stated that a fair and just educational community is vital for members of the community adding that the commission is keen to ensure that students, as consumers should be afforded with necessary protections both on campus and off campus.

The commission also advices educational institutions to pursue aggressive and open initiatives to ensure the heradication of harrasment, corruption and other social vices.
